Doing Something Better

Having a good start to the school year? Almost a month of school has already gone by! (For me, at least.) Crazy how time flies.

So I haven't been blogging much at all in any of my blogs, but with good reason. I've decided to cut back on my computer time and do something else. Something productive. Like read more, write more, and draw more. And especially practice my cello more.

Instead of going online then, I've been going outside. Every day I've gotten into the habit of taken about a forty minute walk and while getting the much required exercise I've been planning out my most recent story Synced. The story I'm really going to try to write out and get published. It would be so amazing to get published. Even if nobody reads it, it'll be a great accomplishment to me. That I actually finished something. Speaking of said story though, if you look on the right hand sidebar you can see that I posted more drawings onto my Deviantart. One of them is a picture of my main character Roza.

I'm also reading two new books, but you can find that out on my other blog iRead.

Hopefully it'll be less than a month when I next post! Au revoir!

I'm Back

Yikes. I'm sorry about sort of disappearing for two weeks. I've been having a crazy life and I find that it takes a certain kind of motivation for me to blog.

So. What have I been doing for the past two weeks? Reading, of course! But you won't hear anything about books in this blog, so if you're curious to see and hear about what I've been reading, check out my other blog iRead. You can click on the link to it in the sidebar. >>

With only two days left of summer vacation, there's a lot I need to get done before school starts up. I have all of today to practice my cello, read whatever I want for hours on end, write, and/or draw. Then tomorrow I have to go to the school and get my school picture taken and get my ID and other little things. Then I'm going to walk around the school trying to memorize my school schedule. After that I'm hoping my mom won't be too tired and take me shopping for new clothes.

When I think about the last day of my freshmen year, I feel like I was just there, walking out of the school in the rain last week! And already on Wednesday I'll be a sophomore. Hopefully even with homework (which I have a feeling this year I'll have a lot) and musical practices I'll still find free time where I can write and read. I know already that I'll be drawing all day in my eighth hour 2D Design class. I'm excited.

I'll probably also be blogging less. Even less than I'm doing now. But if you just sit tight I'll make my way to posting at least every other week. :)

Work Corner

What I find to be most important when I'm writing or drawing, is where I'm doing it. Your work corner is your comfort zone, your thinking space, your personal bubble. It's different for everyone.

Whether it's a cluttered desk, a bed, or some corner in your room, it's where the magic happens and where work gets done. For me, I prefer to draw in my bed, lying down. As for writing, I usually do that on the computer, but if I'm working with a pencil and a notebook, I can write just about anywhere. I don't use my desk a whole lot, or when I do, not for very long, as I tend to have horrible back pains and sitting in a metal chair isn't very fun.

I have a tendency to work on multiple things at the same time, especially when I'm in one of those moods and motivated to work on everything I've been putting off. For me, writing and drawing come hand in hand. I can't have one without the other. While I write in notebooks, I find myself doodling characters on the side. Though words come more fluent to me than drawing, I'm a very visual person and always need to be scribbling something while I work on a story.

Hello,

I thought it'd be a good idea to make a blog that focuses around writing and drawing, since I enjoy posting in my book blog so much (because I post so much *sarcasm*).

So enjoy reading my blog where I'll hopefully find the motivation to post in regularly about either my art I've been working at or my writing.

I'm writing up the second draft (well, six chapters of it at least) of a story I started a while ago. It has gone through so much editing and the pages are worn and scribbled on with notes head to toe. But that's art and progress right there! Hopefully a little after school starts then I can print it off there. I really don't want to spend my quarters printing off at the library. I'm a cheap-o alright.

I've decided that the thesaurus is my new best friend. :D
